Buckingham Palace

Today we went to Buckingham Palace to take a tour of the inside. It would have been fantastic if they didn't jam pack so many people into the rooms. We all know how patient I can be when it comes to standing in line for extended periods of time with no end in sight. The big hold up was to see all the diamonds and crowns. It was really cool to see except for the fact that everyone was pressed up against the glass like flies to (insert southern/oklahoma saying here).
I'm glad we went because now I can say I've been inside the Palace. They open it up during the summer because the Queen is away. We got to see 19 of the state rooms which was really cool and interesting. There was A LOT of gold. Almost every room was either white, green, or red. I think my favorite part was seeing the office which is where they filmed the beginning of the opening ceremony for the olympics when James Bond came in with the Queen and parachuted into the arena.
My feet hurt so bad after walking and standing the entire afternoon. By the time we left everyone was cold, hungry, hurting, and just plain exhausted. Tomorrow is another bright and early morning here in London! Off to Canterbury and Dover! So I must go attempt to fall asleep at a semi-normal hour so I can be up and out by 7:15am. Goodnight!
